Our yearly family picture

Once a year, our church does a photo directory. Everyone who has their picture taken gets a free 8x10 picture. This is our picture from this year.

Hospital trip

We ended up going to the hospital last night. I had been having very regular strong braxton hicks (I think) all day, but then in the evening they became much more painful and very consistant. I started timeing them and they were 3 min apart so we called the dr. She said to go to labor and delivory right away. We got to the hospital, I had a contraction on the way in, in the hall and another one in the bathroom when I was changing into my hospital gown. They put me on the moniters for about half an hour and said "yup, you're having contractions". So I got a shot of some drug (triputaline?) to stop the contractions. That made me really sick and dizzy. Then they put me on an IV and did some test to see if I was going to have the baby any time soon. The test was negative, so no baby in the next 2 weeks. By the time all the IV fluids were in me, I was feeling better and the shot had stopped the contractions, so we were sent home. It is very comforting knowing not to ...

Christmas pictures

Image
This was our first attempt at taking Christmas pictures. Thad was in a wedding this weekend and we thought we'd try to get some good ones before he had to return the tux. I've decided that I look too bloated and I think I'll wait until after she is born and I've lost 20 to 30 lbs before I try for anymore.

My Christmas present

Well, the car shopping is finally over! We found a wonderful dealorship called Oregon Wholesale that gave us a deal we just couldn't turn down. They offered us the exact car Thad wanted at over $2000 under the blue book value. They also put a warrenty on it so anything we discover that is wrong with it in the first 2 months will be fixed at no cost to us. So, we now have our "family car". Thad will continue driving the Chevy and this one will be mine. It's a little bit higher off the ground then the Chevy, so that makes it much easier to get in and out of with my ever growing belly.

Baby at 27 weeks

This week Raquelle weighs almost 2 pounds and is about 14 inches long. She can now open and close her eyes, and she sleeps and wakes at regular intervals. She may suck her fingers, and although her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with assistance — if she were to be born early. She also gets the hiccups every other day or so. If she was born today, she would have a 90% chance of survival! Pretty increadible what they can do with modern medicine!

Car shopping part 1

Ok, I now officially HATE used car dealorships!!! (No offense if anyone works at one). We went car shopping yesterday and I had a list off of the internet of the specific cars I wanted to see. They spent an hour in the office trying to convince us that we should spend more money then we had planned to in order to get a better car then we need "for the baby". HELLO!!! I know what I want, I did my research, and I'm not stupid! They said we would not find what we were looking for in that price range anywhere! Well, I just saw 2 of them at the dealorship down the street (which we will probably buy from)! SO THERE! They were also dropping all of the warning lines like "what would it take to close a deal on a car here today!" Our response..."NOTHING, we are not buying today, we are looking. When we are done looking we will go home, discuss it, and come back to buy whatever we liked!" Oh, and the Subaru we looked at there, said 1992 in the front window, 19...

Happy Birthday dad!

Image
Today is dad's birthday! He is now 30 years old (with several years of experience!). I thought about posting a "dad through the years" set of pictures, but most of those pictures were before we had computers, scanners, and digital cameras! So, I don't have any on my computer! I did find this picture on my brothers site though so I guess it will have to do. Happy Birthday dad! This picture was titled "the keg and the six pack."

TP Tuesday

Last week - 11 squares Today 26 weeks - 11 squares I've been stuck at 11 for a few weeks now. I'm enjoying it while it lasts because I know she still has a lot to grow before March.

Baking Frenzy!

Image
Today I thought I 'd be a good housewife and bake some fresh muffins for my dear husbands lunches. So, I baked cream filled blueberry muffins and butterschotch muffins. I think I may have gone a bit overboard! When I was done, I had a stack of 53 fresh baked muffins!! How will we ever eat them all before they go bad!

Baby update

Well, I am just past 26 weeks and thought I would update everyone on how Raquelle is doing. She is now just over 12 inches long and about 1.75 lbs. So, if she's only 1.75 lbs, why have I gained so much??? 10.5 weeks until she is full term! (13.5 until due date).

Is that MY belly button???

I just noticed today that my belly button is no longer an innie! It's not really an outie yet either though. It's kind of an innie outie. The top half sticks out, and the bottom half still goes in. Weird. I've heard of the belly button being called a turkey timer. It pops out when the baby is done cooking. I guess she's not quited done yet.

TP Tuesday

Image
I've been measuring my belly with TP squares on Tuesdays. I kept up for the first few weeks, then didn't measure for a while. Now I'm trying to start measuring again because it's fun. 9 weeks - 10 squares 10 weeks - 9.5 squares 11 weeks - 9.5 squares Big gap with no measurements 24 weeks - 11 squares 25 weeks - 11 squares

I'm attempting to learn how to add a picture to my blog.
I'm starting a blog. I will probably post to it a few times before I hand out the address, just to become familior with it first.
