My new favorite toy!

Image
This is Raquelle's new favorite toy. I didn't think she would figure it out, but she surprised me. It has a bird that chirps and a duck that quacks and a couple toys that make music. It took her about 1 min to figure out which toys make noise and which ones don't. She loves to grab onto the funlinks and the plastic keys and put them in her mouth. She will have a mouth full of keys, a ring around her right shoulder, funlinks in the other hand, and still hit the bird when the music stops to make it start again. This one can give me up to 45 min of free time (as long as she doesn't get the hiccups!)

Training the puppy!

Image
We are training Max to be a horse for halloween. Raquelle can be the cowgirl. We just need to find a small enough saddle for him so she doesn't have to ride bare back. He was doing really well until I got the camera out. Max is afraid of anything that makes noise.

Eating

Image
Raquelle has started trying to hold her own bottle with just about every feeding now. Unfortunitely, this means that in the process of trying to grab on she hits it out of her mouth several times and then gets frustrated because she isn't eating anymore. And of course, once her tummy is full, she drops off.

Sunday

Image
I have tons of pictures on my camera that have been waiting to be posted on my blog. Life just got a little busy. So, there will be several posts today as I am playing catch up. Here is a typical Sunday afternoon at our place. We need a bigger bed so I can nap too!

My First Hairstyle

Image
So, with her fist pony tail, I had to try more then one bow. Which one do you like better? THe multi - colored ribon one (1st pic) or the little white bow (2nd pic)? There is no shortage of smiling baby pictures for Raquelle! As soon as I get the camera out, all she wants to do is smile and coo.

The Sweetest Thing...

Image
The Sweetest thing that you'll ever see.... in the whole wide world is a happy girl...ooooohhhh I'm a happy girl...(song lyrics) Raquelle learned to open and close her hands and as of today has started grabbing onto her toys instead of just hitting them. I set out to get a picture of her holding on to one of the toys, but as soon as I got down there with the camera, all she wanted to do is smile at me. Forget the toys, mommy is flashing a bright light in my face (smile smile smile)

Baby Dedication

Image
Raquelle had her baby dedication at church this Sunday. My dad was able to come down to do it. It was a very special moment for all of us. Dad mentioned being there when I was born, being the one to baptize me, being there when Thad proposed, officiating our wedding, and now getting to do Raquelle's dedication. I'm so glad that the timing worked out for Dad to be able to come down!

Rolling over again!

She did it again!!! I put Raquelle down for a nap on her tummy in her crib. I turned on her little aquariam like I always do. She was trying to pick her head up to see it (it's above her) and ended up rolling over! She wasn't propped up on anything. She did it all by herself this time! Yeah!!! My little girl is growing. There's no stopping her now!

Swimming

Image
With all this hot weather we have been having (80's and 90's) we decided to take advantage of our pool. Raquelle was very excited to go swimming. She smiled and cooed the entire way to the pool. She even let out a couple giggles. She loves being outside. However, once we got to the water it was a totally different story. Yes, we needed to cool down, but she did not like that cold water!!!! So, swimming was cut short. As soon as I tried to calm her down after that first dip in the pool, she fell asleep! It must be exhausting being so cute!

Mothers Day

Image
Hi everyone, this is Little Love (aka Raquelle, but mommy and daddy never call me that.) Just thought I'd tell you about my first mothers day. I dressed my mommy up to match me so that everyone would know that she was mine. See, here is a picture. We went to church where I decided to stay awake instead of sleep through the message. Since I was awake, mommy put me in the nursery. I didn't like that so I cried and cried. The workers didn't know how to calm me down so they held me up to the door so everyone in church would hear me cry. Eventually, mommy came to check on me (my plan worked). She came and I calmed right down and I made her stay in the nursery with me. Here is a picture of me laughing as I'm playing with mommy After church, daddy and I took mommy out to lunch at Shari's. We tried to go to Hometown Buffet, but the line was out the door and down the block. We were to hungry to wait that long. Lots of people came and told mommy how cute I am. I tried to...

Presents for Raquelle

Image
Knock knock...surprise!!! There is a package for you in the mail! Who do we know in Hoodsport Washington??? The package contained the most adorable little dress, perfectly sized (3 to 6 month which she is wearing now) along with some pretty little socks and shoes and a blankie. I think she likes it! And here is a picture zoomed out so you can see the entire blankie. Thanks Aunt Sue!

AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! The Big One

Image
Good thing she waited til after we left aunt Krista's to do this or this would be Krista's couch! You did this on purpose didn't you! Look at that smile...this is not funny! You need to do that in your diaper or on the toilet! It was loaded... And exploded... I vote she is due for a bath! This is what happens when you have a baby that only poops every other day. If you ever babysit for us, you better hope it is on the other day!

Quality Naked Time

Image
At her 2 month dr appointment, we were told that she should be spending some time naked every day to air out the area covered by her diaper. So, we put down a drop cloth and let her play naked. She only made it about 5 min before we had to clean up the wet towel. Note to self...put a water proof tarp under the towell next time because a towell is not thick enough!

New Toy

Image
Now that Raquelle is getting better at holding her weight up, I decided to try her in the bouncer thing. She liked it for about 5 min, then she sat there and acted bored for another 2 or 3 min, then she started calling me to come pick her up. She is quite the snuggly baby and toys only entertain her for so long before she needs more hugs again.

Happy baby

Image
Here is my happy little girl. She smiles all the time now and hardly cries at all. Believe it or not, I'm not making faces at her to get this picture. She was already smiling.

2 Months and Lovin' it!

Image
I can't believe she is already 2 months old!!! So much has happened since she was born. She is now regularly sleeping through the night (3 times in a row so far), and she smiles constantly. She cries a lot less in the evenings and is constantly cooing with delight. I'm guessing she is just about 11 lbs (2 month check up Monday, find out for sure then) and now wears ALL 3 to 6 month clothes. She is starting to fall into a schedule. Up at 9:00, nap at 10:15, up at 1:00, nap at 2:30, up at 4:30, bed at 10:00. Now if only I can get bed time to be a little earlier so we can have some mommy daddy time! We finally beat the thrush and are back to nursing. I gave up so many times, but then changed my mind the next day. Now, on daily high doses of acidophilus, it hasn't come back in about a week and a half! And, to top it all off, I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight! (if I weigh standing on one foot). Anyway, enough talk, here are the adorable 2 month old smiles! (Notice...

She did it again!

I woke up to the alarm clock again this morning, not a crying hungry baby! Of course, the radio was a little louder then usual, so she woke up to the alarm clock too. I could get use to this! She has slept through the night 3 times this last week!

This is Raquelle's favorite place to be if she is not being held. She loves her afternoon walks and her stroller. She keeps turing her head back and forth and smiling at everything she is discovering in the world around her. She also likes to stick her tongue out at me and make faces at me while she is in the stroller too. I've found I no longer notice anything around me on our walks because I watch her in the stroller the whole time. In other news and accomplishments...Raquelle slept through the night again! I put her to bed last night, and then we went to bed and I woke up to Thads alarm clock this morning. She slept another hour and a half after his alarm went off! That gave us 8.5 hours of uninterrupted sleep! Then she ate and went back down until 9:00 when she was ready to start her day. Can't wait for her to do this every night...and for her to sleep in her crib instead of our room.

Copy Cat!

They say that children imitate their parents. I didn't realize that it started this young! Raquelle has started imitating me. I stick my tongue out at her, and she sticks hers out back and then smiles. It's become a game we play now sticking our tongues out back and forth at each other. She will also try to copy my facial expressions. If I make my eyes really big and raise my eyebrows, she will try to make the same face. It's really cute. Sleeping through the night was a fluke. She did it that one time and then went back to getting up at 3:30. Her normal night, she goes to bed at 10:30, up at 3:30 and 6:30 to eat and then up at 9 or so for the day. Last night, she went to bed at 10:30, was up at 4:30 to eat and then slept clear til 9. If she is going to cut out one of the night time feedings, I'd rather it be the 3:30 - 4:30 one, then the 6:30 one. But hey, progress is progress.
