Getting closer

Image
Here I am this evening at 35 weeks pregnant! I had to take a straight on shot so you can all see that this baby is ALL in my belly! And then I turn sideways... This baby dropped sometime over night. I woke up at 1 AM having some quite painful contractions. After a few of them Thad asked if he should call Krista so we could go to the hospital. I told him no, we should wait another hour or so and see what happens. They ended up getting further apart instead of closer together so we went back to bed. Apparently they did something though, because when I looked in the mirror this morning, this baby has definitely dropped. And, I haven't been kicked in the ribs at all today! Yeah! I need to be pregnant for 1 more week before I am far enough along to deliver at the hospital we chose. After that, the baby can come at any time. If it's dropped now, hopefully that means that it really will come in mid October like we are hoping! On another note...When Raquelle climbed in bed...

Almost done!

I feel like I am finally on the home stretch! I am 34 weeks pregnant today, which means I am due in 6 weeks! Yeah! I had my first apt with my new dr today. I liked him. He was nice. I explained everything with the billing and he agreed that we could try to get this baby to come a little early (like 38 or 39 weeks). I have to get past 36 weeks first so I can deliver at the hospital that I want to. After that, we want to get the baby out so the bill will be covered! He said he can strip the membrane at my 37 week check up. That can make you go into labor, so it's possible I could be having this baby in 3 weeks! I guess maybe I should buy some diapers and install the carseat before then. I know both my mom and sister went into labor within 24 hours of having this done, but I also know people who have had it done and not had their babies for another week or two. That will be our first attempt to get things started. If it doesn't work, he will do it again at my 38 and...

EEK!

I'm 8 months pregnant and have to find a new Dr! How frustrating and stressful! I've been really frustrated anyway because my last 3 appointments have been canceled on me. 1st, they scheduled me for while she was teaching a class at the hospital, and waited till the day before to call to reschedule. 2nd, she had a family emergency and canceled all her apts for that day. 3rd, she was delivering a baby. I was suppose to finally have a check up tomorrow, and they called today to tell me that she is no longer practicing! Due to some personal and family issues, she has decided to stop practicing! They offered me a list of other OB's in the area and that was it! So, here I am, 8 months pregnant and haven't had a dr apt in the last 2 months and now have no dr! I am so beyond frustrated! If there is anything wrong with this baby or pregnancy, I have no way of knowing because I haven't seen a dr in so long! At least I can feel the baby moving so I know it is stil...

It's too early!

Raquelle can now open the child proof doorknob covers as easily as we can. So her newest thing is coming in between 6 and 6:30 AM and crawling in bed with us to snuggle. On the weekends, it is both of us she gets to snuggle. On weekdays, Thad is already up getting ready for work. I can usually get her to lay quietly in bed with me for another hour or so of rest, as long as she didn't wake up Titus on her way to our room.

Pop Quiz - Just wondering if anyone knows who the child in this picture is! I know, but I'll wait and see if anyone guesses before I tell.

1st day of preschool!

Raquelle turned 2 1/2 on Friday! That's the age that they moved kids into my preschool class at ABC Learning Center, so I decided to start preschool this week. I kept all of my curriculum from when I worked there so I spend the weekend putting together this weeks lesson plans. She had a blast coloring with markers for the first time, tracing her letter A (with help) and matching pictures. She is actually starting out quite a bit ahead of most of the kids when they first moved into my class. Thanks to the letter factory DVD Aunt Krista gave us, she can recognize all of her letters and knows their sounds already! (Titus is starting to catch on to them too). When we went outside to play, she pointed at a letters on the label of my lawn chair and said "M! M say mmmm, A! A say aaaa! C! C say Ke" I told her that's right and worked with her to sound out the word "MAC" on the label. Later, when I was reading her a book, I saw the word cat and thought we w...

Thad is a farmer at heart. So, since we live in the Willamette Valley and it is harvest season, he has really enjoyed visiting the farms. The last two weeks, we went to the blueberry farm and in 2 sessions picked 24 lbs or organic blueberries! This week, we went to a different farm that had a variety of fresh produce. They had both a produce stand and u-pick available. We spend about an hour and a half with the kids picking blackberries and beans and then also bought some of the produce from the stand. The last two weeks Thad has lamented the fact that the kids are so cute out on the farm and we forgot the camera, so this week I remembered it. Raquelle and Titus Berry eating ...I mean berry picking. These were thornless blackberries. I didn't know there was such a thing until I read their add on Craigs list! No pokes or scratches! Yeah! Thad picking berries Titus eating berries. This is what Titus looked like by the time we were ready to pack up. (We are in the bean sect...
