Newest members of the household!

Image
Here is the newest member of our family! He / She is a very active baby! For those a little less ultra sound savvy, this is a great profile picture of the baby sucking his / her thumb. Left thumb is in baby's mouth, right hand is up playing with his / her hair (assuming he/she has some). And the other new member of this house is a little shy. Maybe Titus can coax him out. There he is! This is Peter. Peter is a purebred German Shepherd puppy (7 weeks old)! Don't worry, he's not ours...but he is living in the back yard with Max!

Pretend play!

I was at Value Village last night digging through their maternity clothes, and I found a play kitchen for only $10! Of course, I bought it for Raquelle. It has almost all it's parts too! I cleaned it up and set it up for her last night after she went to bed. She has been playing with it all morning! It has an attached high chair to put a baby doll in, so we looked all over for baby nay this morning and couldn't find her. So I showed Raquelle how the high chair worked with her teddy bear instead. She had tons of fun cooking blocks in her little toy pan and then feeding them to teddy. She would put a pan full of blocks and other small toys in front of the bear and say "Eat eat!" Then she was playing with the knobs and opening and closing the oven door. I caught a glimpse of something pink in the oven. I asked her what she was making and she said "Pie!" and pulled baby nay and her blankie out of the oven! Once baby nay was sufficiently cooked, she th...

Daycare update

I posted a while ago that I was hoping to start babysitting a couple kids. Well, I officially have my first daycare child! She is the sweetest little girl and she will be starting on Monday! Yeah! Also, I have a daycare interview with another family on Sunday afternoon. If I get their little boy, he would be starting the 2nd week of July! So, if you read this before Sunday, please pray that I get this little boy too. Two full time daycare children will make a huge difference for my family financially. Aside from taking away any and all financial stress, it would put us debt free much sooner. If I get this little boy, I will not be taking any more children until after my baby is born. I don't want to over do it. Once my baby is a few months old, if it has a good / easy temperament, I may consider taking on a 3rd daycare child. Anyway, all this to say please pray that the interview goes well on Sunday and that I get to add this little boy to my daycare!

Recipe day - Oreo Bon bons!

Ingredients: 1 pack Oreos 1 pack cream cheese 1 pack almond bark (white or chocolate or both) 1 large ziplock bag wax paper Instructions: Crush the oreos until fine, either by hand or in food processor. Put in a bowl, add softened cream cheese and mix by hand. Roll into small balls and freeze until they get hard. Melt either package of almond bark (follow directions on bark package) and remove the balls from the freezer. Dip oreo balls in the almond bark (use tooth picks to keep your fingers clean). Put the dipped balls back onto the wax paper. If you chose to do fancy, melt the bark of oppostie color and place in the ziplock bag and cut corner and drizzle on the dipped balls. Let stand for an hour. Mmmmmm, good!

19 weeks pregnant

Image
Can you believe I'm already half way done with this pregnancy? My ultra sound is next week! For the record, my belly is a bit bigger this time then with Titus, but I have gained less so far. It's just all belly this time instead of all over! My birthday present this year...Flash back to 4 years ago! Didn't I get a gun for my birthday then too? Maybe Thad will get a sewing machine for his birthday then. These high powered pellet guns are pretty cool. They have as much power to them as a .22. Can't wait to take it out and try it!

Enchanted Forrest

Image
I mentioned a few posts ago that we are trying to have at least one family day a month where we go and do something special as a family. When I went to the moms group at Krista's church, I won free admission to Enchanted Forrest! Kids under 3 are free, and Thad didn't have to work today, so off we went! We had tons of fun. After making it through Story book lane, we decided to run the stroller back to the car. The kids weren't really using it much anyway. Raquelle was old enough (and tall enough) to go on the rides. We didn't want to go broke on rides, so she only got to go on 2. I'm not sure if the rides or the big slide was her favorite. She had a blast though. She had almost as much fun as Thad! Outside the crooked man's house Hallway in the crooked man's house Raquelle on the mini ferris wheel. She was a little nervous at first, but once it started going, she was smiling and saying "WEEE!" the whole time. Raquelle and I riding the train. The...

It's almost free movie season!

Two theaters in Salem offer free kids movies throughout the summer. They play every Tuesday and Wednesday morning starting at 10 AM. Seating is first come first serve and is limited to capacity. If you have young children and want to try them out at the theater, this is a great way to not lose money if you have to leave half way though. You have a choice between a G rated movie or a PG rated movie each day. The summer line up is posted, so I thought I'd copy it here. That way I can find it again. Hope all my local friends enjoy! Do you think my 1 and 2 year old would sit through Fantastic 4 - Rise of the Silver Surfer? Yah, I didn't either. Maybe we'll try the new veggie tales movie. It's one of those mornings....

that I wish Thad was a stay at home dad, or that it was Saturday so I didn't have to deal with this. I woke up this morning way earlier then I wanted to to Raquelle pounding on the bathroom door (between the bedrooms) and yelling "MOMMY MOMMY!" I tried to ignore it hoping she would give up and go back to bed. She switched to her bedroom door pounding and yelling "MOMMY!" Then she came back to the bathroom door...so I decided maybe I should just get them up. I walked into the kids room and Raquelle says "OH NO! Ty Poopy!" I look over and there is Ty's pants and a perfectly clean diaper on the floor next to the crib. Titus is sitting in his crib (very happy I might add) naked, in a huge pile of poop! He looks up at me with a big smile, holds up a handful of poop and says "Cracker!" and shoves it in his mouth! EEEWWWW!!!! He had it all over his face, hands and was totally caked in it from waist to toes. I grabbed the nearest pack...

Recipe share

I have discovered / invented the PERFECT pancake recipe!!! Try it! You might just die of shock at how good these are! 1 1/2 cup flour 2 TBSP sugar 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/2 cups milk I mix all the dry ingredients together and then add the milk and vanilla. No butter or oil, so it is even low fat! I assume my readers know how to cook a pancake, so I won't go into details there. Hope you enjoy!
