Unwanted visitors :(

What a time for this! We could be bringing home a brand new baby any day, and with the cold weather, the mice have moved in! The house next door was very run down. The new owner who moved in this month is totally gutting and re-doing it. He also has multiple cats. Thad believes that with the construction and cats, the mice moved out of his house and into ours. :( I first noticed "evidence" of potential mice on Thursday and told Thad. He wasn't convinced. Then I found some more droppings on Friday. Thad said we could get a couple traps just in case. The weekend got away from us and we didn't get around to it. Then Monday morning, Thad saw a mouse run across the living room and into the fireplace when he was getting ready for work. So he brought home 8 mouse traps. We set them up all over the house last night. By morning when That got up, every single trap had been licked clean of it's peanut butter, and none of them had gone off! So he picked them all up and put them under the kitchen sink for the day so the kids wouldn't find them. Not 10 min after he left for work "SNAP!" We caught our first mouse...and with no bait on the trap! I guess the smart mice come out at night, the not so smart ones wait till early morning. I could also hear one chewing on the boxes in our closet this morning. Thad moved a trap in there, but it didn't catch that mouse. Honestly, for how fast I am finding more and more droppings everywhere, I think we had a mouse with it's entire extended family, and their extended family ALL move in at once! I don't think the traps are going to make much of a dent in their population. I don't know if we should use poison though. Maybe put it out at night and put it away during the day like with the traps, but then we would have mice dieing in random places all over the place, and wouldn't that smell as they decompose? EEEWWWWW! Just the thought of that makes me want to puke! I think the only other option is get a cat or 5, but Thad is allergic to them.

It makes my ant problems seem pithy... I'm sooo sorry! Do you have any known gender or name for baby yet? Or are these things secrets? I can't wait to hear more baby news!

I've heard there are little motels that work. They would keep the dead mice from dying all over. Maybe they would work? I hope so!

D-Con works very nicely on mice. It makes them dry up so they don't stink after dying. I've put them under big furniture, like the cedar chest where they are completely out of sight and reach of little hands. Good luck!

Ok, as promised, here is Titus birth story and it's probably going to be pretty long. It actually starts 2 weeks ago with prodominal labor. I had this with Raquelle where I start contracting early, but make no cervical change. We went to the hospital on Sunday night the 8th with contractions 4 min apart. The contractions were making no change, but Titus HB was low and not variable enough so they kept me. After monitoring over night, there had been no progress, but his HB was better. My MW offered to try a cytotec to ripen things up and see if that would get things going for him to be born. I had the first dose at 8 AM and a 2nd dose around noon. They caused my ctx to become very consistent but not incredibly painful. By the end of the day I had made no progress and his HB had been better so we went home. 2 month check up

I don't want to forget to blog about the kids!  When we have a new baby, I love to be able to look back and see how their growth and milestones compare to their siblings! Annabelle is 11 weeks old today.  She had her 2 month check up last week.  We are battling thrush again just like we did with the first 3.  She does NOT nurse well (still),  but I haven't had to go to formula yet.  Every day, feeding her is a struggle and it feels like a long uphill battle. Her 2 month stats - Height - 23.75" Weight - 12 lbs 8 oz She is way ahead on her social milestones.  She already imitates me and will track objects and turn her head to keep following them when they go out of her line of sight. She doesn't tolerate tummy time very well though, so she hasn't built up as much strength as her oldest sibling had by this age.  She is still right on track with what is normal though.  I don't have her paper in front of me now, but she is right about 7...

Almost a decade!

 I have not posted anything on this blog in about 9 years!  The kids are growing up, and last night, as teenagers, Kezzy came across this blog.  “Mom!!! You have a blog?  Can I read it?”  Since then, she and Titus have been reading everything on here, reminiscing about how cute they were when they were little.  It got me thinking that maybe I should resurrect this old blog!  I have another child now (Theo) who was never even mentioned in any previous posts, and very little is on here about Annabelle and Philemon!  I’ll have to think about what I want to write about, now that the kids are older.  In the mean time, here is a new picture of my now much more grown up children.  This picture is of me and the kids on Mothers Day.
