Having a 1 yr old is a lot different then having a baby that's for sure! Now, I grab her coat and reach to put it on her and she takes off running the other way laughing as I try to catch her. She is understanding more and more every day. She sees me pack up her diaper bag and will shriek with delight and run for the front door. She is taking after her cousin Lily in trying to climb everything. Yesterday, I put her in her high chair with part of her lunch, went into the kitchen to get the rest and heard squeeling and laughing. I peeked out and she had climbed out of the seat belt on the high chair and was standing on the tray (and on her food). She can also manage to get onto couches and end tables now and about half way over the baby gate. She seems to understand our words when we talk to her. I'll ask her where her sock is when I notice she is bare footed and she will go pull it out from under the rocking chair or from down the side of a couch coushin. She communica...

Raquelle's actual birthday

Image
YEAH!!! We are back online! I have so much to post and Blogger only lets me put 5 pictures per post. So, I'm starting with Raquelle's birthday. On her actual birthday, we took her to the park to play. She had her birthday party a few days later. Here are some park pictures. Playing on the swings with mommy. (mommy doesn't have much of a lap for her to sit on!) Going down the slide. Waving at daddy from way up high!! On the tire swing! It was fun at first, but then mommy pushed it too fast and it got scary. And walking (or is she falling) on the bouncy bridge. All in all it was a pretty fun day. We've made stops at the park a more regular occurance since she has learned to walk. There are 2 of them in walking distance from our home so that makes it easy to get out on a nice afternoon.

Teaser blog and update

As you all know, we are without a computer. I e-filed our taxes today and hopefully will have our return in the next couple weeks and will then be able to replace the computer and start blogging again. In the mean time, here are some pictures off of aunt Marjorie's computer Raquelle at her birthday party (more to come when we get our new computer) Raquelle w/a cold Raquelle has become a bottle and blankie baby. Luckly, so far it doesn't matter what blankie, as long as she has one to drag around and snuggle. And luckly, so far she can't tell the difference between a blankie and a towel, T-shirt, or jacket. Here she is snuggling a blankie and having a bottle. And here she is playing with Thad. In other family news, the baby is due in 4.5 weeks and Raquelle turned 1 a couple weeks ago. I will have a lot more birthday party pictures when I can load the pictures from my camera onto my new computer. (soon I hope.) Raquelle had her 1 yr check up and shots. Here are her ...

No internet

Just wanted to let everyone know that if you don't see any posts on my blog for a while, it 's because our computer died so I have no internet until we can get our tax return and replace the entire computer. I expect this could take a month or so. If you know of anyone with a spare computer that they aren't using that we could borrow for a month or so, please call me. I'm going crazy with no internet.

Cute videos

I think these are the cutest videos I have or Raquelle so far. She got the hiccups from laughing so hard. Then I started imitating her and she thought it was hilarious....so we decided to video it for how much she was laughing. Excuse the messy desk in the back ground. I've practically been living at the desk the last week or so while doing our taxes. Part 1 Part 2 In other news and events, our friends Jeb and Melissa had their twins yesterday! Their little boy Kennith was 5 lbs 12 oz, and their little girl Aubry was 6 lbs 5 oz. We got to go visit them at the hospital today. They are so tiny! I got to hold Kennith for a while. Both babies are very cute. It made me want this baby to flip and be born! Except he really does need to cook at least 6 more weeks (preferably 8 or 9) before he would he strong enough in the outside world.

To flip a baby

Image
To flip a breach or transverse baby: Prop a solid plank such as an ironing board up on a chair or the couch. Stack pillows around it in case you fall off. Lay on the board upside down for 20 min at a time 3 times a day. Repeat daily until baby is head down in order to avoid a C-Section. Yah, So this is about as comfortable as it looks! As if the baby's head wasn't putting enough pressure on my ribs already! The idea is to get him higher up in my abdomin so that he has enough space to turn around before he settles back down onto (or preferable into) my pelvis. In case any of you ever try this, I recomend getting up slowly. Being upside down for 20 min all the blood rushes to your head and when you stand up, everything goes black! Anyway, for your amusement, here is a pic of what I got to do this afternoon. The goal is to hopefully have him head down by my next check up at the end of February. And just for fun and becuase she is so cute, here is another picture of Raqu...
