Other updates

Having a 1 yr old is a lot different then having a baby that's for sure! Now, I grab her coat and reach to put it on her and she takes off running the other way laughing as I try to catch her. She is understanding more and more every day. She sees me pack up her diaper bag and will shriek with delight and run for the front door. She is taking after her cousin Lily in trying to climb everything. Yesterday, I put her in her high chair with part of her lunch, went into the kitchen to get the rest and heard squeeling and laughing. I peeked out and she had climbed out of the seat belt on the high chair and was standing on the tray (and on her food). She can also manage to get onto couches and end tables now and about half way over the baby gate. She seems to understand our words when we talk to her. I'll ask her where her sock is when I notice she is bare footed and she will go pull it out from under the rocking chair or from down the side of a couch coushin. She communicates when she is hungry ("nuh nuh") and thristy ("ba ba") and says hi, mama, dada, no no, doggie, diaper, titus, book, ball, and a few others. We just started on sign language and she signs "please" when she wants something now. If she sees me making a bottle, she starts signing please while she waits. Here are some pictures for you all to enjoy.

Raquelle reading in her new reading chair. Books are one of her favorites!

Here newest skill! I now wake up almost every morning to naked baby in her crib. Luckly, her diaper is usually still on. A few times, she's managed to take her jammies off in process of falling asleep. Then we go into check on her when we go to bed and she is naked.

Thad got up on Saturday morning and let me sleep in. When I got up this is what I found. I have to give him props, most dad's won't even attempt pigtails on a wiggly 1 yr old. Notice how wonderfully straight and even he got them!

We went to a wedding this weekend at the coast. Here is Raquelle discovering the flowers lining the church.

And here is an attempt at a family picture with a very wiggly child. She really wanted to get down and go eat those flowers!

The first attempt at the family pic was even funnier. Thad was holding Raquelle and her front half is facing forward and her legs are all over the place and turned around from her trying to wiggle free and get down. That would be why we are both holding her in the above picture.

New baby news: I don't know if I posted this in any of the other posts today, but I am 1 cm dilated as of today's check up. I've started having lots of contractions (just like the last few weeks with Raquelle). My dr doesn't think he'll come this week though.

Well, I believe my blogging is now caught up.

Those are really cute pictures. Nope, one year old are mighty different then new babies. I am glad to hear that everything is going well. Raquelle seems to be doing great. I hope that the last couple of weeks (or maybe week) of this pregnancy goes well. I will pray for a quick and timely delivery.
