Little talker

At Keziah's last check up, her dr told me that she has the vocabulary of a 3 year old.  I believe it!  She talks more then any of my other kids at this age...however, with that vocabulary of a 3 year old comes the tact of a 1 1/2 yr old.  Here are some of the things she has been saying lately.

Kez - "I love you!"
Me - "I love you too."
Kez - "No mommy!  I love you waffle!"  (points at the waffle iron)

As I am chasing Kezzy down the hall with a rag after dinner
Me - "Kezzy, where do you think you're going?"
Kez - stopps..."Um, I don't know...church?"

Kez - "Ring round rosies, posies, ashes, fall down!  (pause) Stand up Charlotte!  Again!"

Potty training...she comes running into the kitchen -
"Help mommy, Help...Oh no!  Poopies!"

She also has "That's not nice" and "Be nice to me" down quite well.  She calls any bird the flies in the sky a "Seagull" and any bird she sees run or walk across the ground is a "chicken"

A few other common phrases we hear -
"Potty now again!"
"Read the book"
"Hungy hungy hungy...snack time"
"Mommy, milk in my sippy cup please"
"I don't know!" (for just about any question she is asked)

It is nice that she can tell me what she needs.  I believe we are having fewer tantrums and discipline issues with her because of her advanced communication.  If she starts to cry, I can ask her what she needs and she can answer hungry, or milk, or owie, or Ty hit, or whatever she needs to.  Once she has communicated her concern, she usually stops crying and is happy.

Birth Story

Ok, as promised, here is Titus birth story and it's probably going to be pretty long. It actually starts 2 weeks ago with prodominal labor. I had this with Raquelle where I start contracting early, but make no cervical change. We went to the hospital on Sunday night the 8th with contractions 4 min apart. The contractions were making no change, but Titus HB was low and not variable enough so they kept me. After monitoring over night, there had been no progress, but his HB was better. My MW offered to try a cytotec to ripen things up and see if that would get things going for him to be born. I had the first dose at 8 AM and a 2nd dose around noon. They caused my ctx to become very consistent but not incredibly painful. By the end of the day I had made no progress and his HB had been better so we went home. 2 month check up

I don't want to forget to blog about the kids!  When we have a new baby, I love to be able to look back and see how their growth and milestones compare to their siblings! Annabelle is 11 weeks old today.  She had her 2 month check up last week.  We are battling thrush again just like we did with the first 3.  She does NOT nurse well (still),  but I haven't had to go to formula yet.  Every day, feeding her is a struggle and it feels like a long uphill battle. Her 2 month stats - Height - 23.75" Weight - 12 lbs 8 oz She is way ahead on her social milestones.  She already imitates me and will track objects and turn her head to keep following them when they go out of her line of sight. She doesn't tolerate tummy time very well though, so she hasn't built up as much strength as her oldest sibling had by this age.  She is still right on track with what is normal though.  I don't have her paper in front of me now, but she is right about 7...

Almost a decade!

 I have not posted anything on this blog in about 9 years!  The kids are growing up, and last night, as teenagers, Kezzy came across this blog.  “Mom!!! You have a blog?  Can I read it?”  Since then, she and Titus have been reading everything on here, reminiscing about how cute they were when they were little.  It got me thinking that maybe I should resurrect this old blog!  I have another child now (Theo) who was never even mentioned in any previous posts, and very little is on here about Annabelle and Philemon!  I’ll have to think about what I want to write about, now that the kids are older.  In the mean time, here is a new picture of my now much more grown up children.  This picture is of me and the kids on Mothers Day.
