Preschool (sort of)

Image
Before Raquelle was born, I taught preschool. So today, I decided she is old enough to get started. We sang some songs, worked on our colors, learned about circles, read a couple books and then colored with crayons for the first time. Here are Raquelle's first color pictures ever! The first one she did all by herself. The 2nd one was the one where I was showing her how to use the crayons and holding onto her hand to help her. Of course, I did have to tell her no and take a couple crayons away when she tried to eat them, and I had to hold the paper down so she wouldn't tear or eat it too, but we had lots of fun this morning! She doesn't do the motions to any of the songs yet, but she claps for me! Maybe in another 6 months she will participate too! In honor of her first day of preschool with mommy, I did Raquelle's hair in her first pigtails. They are a little uneven because she didn't want to hold still for me, but I'll fix them before we go out this ev...

Big girl!

Raquelle was officially moved from the infant nursery to the toddler nursery today! I was a little worried that she would get trampled by all the bigger kids, but since she is tall for her age, she was the same size or bigger then most of them. She turned out to be quite the sippy cup thief and they had to put away the books with the paper pages because she tried to eat them. Other then that, she did fine. She is understanding more and more of what we say to her. When I give her a shoe to play with, she will try to put it on her foot. When I tell her "sockie" she will hold her foot up for me to put her socks on her. She is finally sitting still for me to fix her hair and just this week she started holding her own bottle! She is trying to say diaper when I change her, but no one other then her parents would recognize this new word quite yet. The real "big girl" of the house is doing well too. I haven't measured in TP recently like I did with Raquelle, b...

Walking video!

For everyone who has been asking, here is a video of Raquelle walking! I am posting a link instead of the actual video so that my wonderful readers who have dial up can skip the video if they want. Anyway, enjoy. Walking baby!

Snow day! Or rather, Ice day...

Well, Thad got off work about the time I got out of bed this morning! He went to work and they basically said the roads were to dangerous and sent everyone home. We have snow on top of ice. According to Thad, that's not a good combination to drive on. So, we are enjoying having daddy home today.

This is a very cute outfit that came from Aunt Krista. She said she wanted a picture when Raquelle fit into it, so here it is. PS. Happy birthday Mikayla!!! (4 years old today!!!)

Update

The dr just called. They X-rays showed just bronchitis, no pnemonia or asthma. Since the antibiotics did nothing, the bronchitis is viral and has to run its course. So, we were given a prescription to treat her symptoms for the next 2 weeks and to help her breath better. Since I'm blogging, here is another pair of leggings I made for Raquelle. (oh, and she is walking in this picture.

Hospital visit and other stories

I have several things to write about today. First, Raquelle is still very sick and getting worse. She started coughing last Friday. Monday, she wasn't coughing but her breathing sounded gurgley so I took her to the Dr. He diagnosed her with bronchitis, gave her a nebulizer treatment in the office and prescribed antibiotics. Today, after 4 days of antibiotics she wasn't sounding any better so we called to make another appointment for tomorrow. After paying close attention to her breathing, we called the dr back and told them that someone needed to see her tonight not tomorrow, so they fit her in. We went to the dr and were told that she is not sounding good. They sent us to the hospital for X-rays of her lungs and said someone will call us tomorrow. So, we are waiting to hear what is going on with Raquelle. In the mean time, she is perfectly happy, just a little more snuggly then normal. In other news and accomplishments, Raquelle climbed over the baby gate today. I g...
