She woke up naked!

Image
I thought this wasn't suppose to happen til they were a little older! Raquelle woke up and started babbling to herelf at about 6:45. I was tired from a late night so I went back to sleep and figured I'd wait til she was actually crying to go get her (besides, maybe she'll go back to sleep!). At 7:30, she was still happily babbling to herself. I went in to get her up, and she was naked! In the time she was laying there talking to herself, she had somehow unsnapped her jammies and taken them off and she was chewing on them. Luckly, she did still have her diaper on. I still can't figure out how she did it! I should have taken a picture!

Bittersweet

Today was very bittersweet. Raquelle has been eating like crazy, so out of curiosity, I measured her. She has grown 2 inches in the last 2 weeks! No wonder her clothes seem like they no longer fit overnight! So, I mourned the loss of all her cute 3 to 6 month clothes as I boxed them up for the next kid. She still has a couple things that will fit, but not much. The sad part is, there really wasn't much to unpack in 6 to 9 month size and what she does have in that size is mostly fall winter clothes! I picked up a pair of shorts at the store so she can at least wear shorts and a onsie until I get this poor child some clothes. The other bittersweet thing is our garden. We have 9 tomatos growing on our tomato plants and I picked enough fresh beans to eat with dinner tonight. The sad part is, we are moving away from this lush garden in 3 days and I doubt any of it would survive being transplanted since it's suppose to be 107 on Saturday when we move. Our neighbors are alre...

New pictures

I just realized I haven't posted any really good pictures of Raquelle in a couple of weeks! So, here she is modeling her new lepard print skirt! If only I could find a shirt or onsie that matched a little better! Here she is sitting up! I got about 6 pictures of her sitting without help before she tipped over. And, here is one that I included just because she is so cute. Notice the drool dripping off of her chin!

Moving update

Ok, so we changed our minds. We are now planning on moving into the small apartment in down town Albany instead of the duplex. We went out this evening to see the one we would actually be getting and it was pretty trashed. They weren't done working on it yet but when we asked, they were not planning on replacing the destroyed carpets or doing some other work that I would consider necessary before moving in. So...we go with the apartment instead. It may be small, but it really is nice with it's own private fenced back yard in a nice quiet neighborhood not too far from the park. Moving day is still the 22nd if anyone wants to help.

Moving to "the Ghetto!"

That's right! We are making the move to Albany, and not only that...to the Ghetto in Albany! It's ok, we have a 110 lb dog. We gave our 30 day notice where we are in S Salem almost 3 weeks ago. Our home search has ended in a choice between a small appartment in down town Albany with a fenced yard, quiet neighborhood, about 200 sq feet smaller then where we are now.... Or a duplex in the ghetto. The duplex is about 100 sq feet or more larger then our current appartment, is in a duplex community with a pool, park area, playground...no fenced yard. Anyway, we are trying to get one in the back corner. Thad called it the ghetto because there were a bunch of kids playing basketball in the street. So...the living room is the size of our living and dining room combined. The master bedroom has walk in closet, the kitchen is bigger (which is sad since the kitchen is still pretty small). I'm actually excited about the move. There is a teen from our youth group who liv...

4 month stats

Raquelle had her 4 month check up today. Here are her stats... Birth: Weight - 7 lbs 7 oz Height - 19.5" 2 week : Weight - 7 lbs 11 oz - 28% Height - 20.5" 56% 2 month: Weight - 11 lbs 5 oz - 44% Height - 22" - 18% 4 month: Weight - 13 lbs 12 oz - 40% Height - 24.5" - 45% She has hit all of her developmental milestones so far and has gone from being short to being average sized. The dr says they are suppose to double their birth weight by 6 months and tripple by 1 year, so she is right on track. She did not enjoy her shots very much, but she doesn't need any more for 2 months so hopefully she will forget about them by then.

Family picnic

Aunt Sarah holding Raquelle so we can play in the water. Me holding the chair still for Thad to climb on before I tipped him over. Peacefully rowing the boat back to shore after a nice relaxing trip around the lake. AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! I'm wet!!!!! He's in trouble now!!!!
