Oregon State Fair
We took the kids to the fair today and they had tons of fun. The weather report was for 86 and sunny, but it ended up sprinkling off and on and windy with a down poor as we were heading back to the car. At least the heavy rain and thunder held off until we were done.
Some highlights...The kids really liked the duck races, the farm animals, petting zoo, and their favorite was probably the toddler fun zone. We did not end up going on any rides this year...Raquelle was a little clingy and unsure of the whole thing. They have sheep riding! After watching a few kids ride sheep (rodeo style) Raquelle was talking about riding a sheep for the next hour. So we went back and bought her a ticket ($5) to ride a sheep. When she got to the front of the line and it was her turn, she freaked out and started screaming and crying and clinging to Thad. So much for sheep riding. Maybe next year. For my local readers who have not been yet, it is for ages 2 to 8 and under 65 lbs.
Anyway, here are some pictures of the things the kids DID enjoy.

Petting zoo

Reptile house

Duck Races

We attempted to go to the free Hannah Montana concert, but the kids weren't really old enough to appreciate it. Then enjoyed throwing the beach balls around and thought the dancing and such was cool, but it was past their bed time and this was also when the rain started. So we didn't stay for the whole thing. Titus and Raquelle both think that elephant ears make a wonderful dinner, and Thad and I enjoyed our first ever deep fried twinkies! I highly recommend having one. Not two...just one. They are very high in calories and fat, but worth the splurge!

Farm Animals!
The highlight...Toddler fun zone! Best part is, it was free!
