Busy Times
I have a full house again. After spending the summer with just my kids and 1 extra, I took on 2 teachers kids. Now I have 6 kids during the day ranging from 6 months to 4 years old. It is busy here during the day! I was searching for a movie to watch this evening and came across one that said it was about a busy mom of 2. I seriously laughed out loud. Busy? How is that possible with only 2 kids? Nothing against people with 2 kids...I loved having 2 kids. I can't imagine being busy enough with 2 kids though warrant a movie. Needless to say, I did not rent that one.
I've only had all 6 kids 3 days so far so I am still getting adjusted to it. The baby still takes 3 naps. The older kids take 1 nap, Raquelle doesn't nap. We are homeschooling and Raquelle started Kindergarten this last week. My challenge is fitting in her schooling, preschool for the younger kids, and keeping the baby happy. We have had to make some adjustments. We now start preschool before morning snack instead of after, because that is when the baby goes down for her first nap. When the baby wakes up, the kids won't focus on anything except playing with the baby. Raquelle thinks she has a life size doll to entertain (though mommy won't let her hold the baby). Anyway...I am rambling because no one reads my blog and I feel like I can ramble on kind of like a diary.
So, what does a REAL busy mom's day look like?
6:00 - wake up. Prepare house for the kids.....clean, unload dishes, sweep, and do everything that wasn't done before bed.
7:00 - 1st extra child arrives, my kids wake up. Make breakfast for myself and 4 children, feed the dog, and sometimes start a load of laundry. Put breakfast dishes into the dishwasher that I unloaded the hour before.
8:00 - 2 more kids arrive. Kids have free play time, I hold the baby and help Thad pack his lunch and get out the door to work. (Clean up Kezzy's poopy underwear)
8:30 - baby down for first nap - big kids have Circle time (Bible story, songs, letter, numbers, shapes, and color review)
9:00 - snack time
9:30 - set up big kids with their color pages and worksheets at the table, feed baby, change diapers
10:00 - play outside if the weather is nice, or continue at the table with puzzles and play doh. Hold and play with baby because she is a social baby...thus her favorite toy is a person interacting with her. Use this time to teach the other kids how to be gentle and loving. (If outside, Kez or Titus will pee their pants)
11:00 - Baby back down for nap, lunch time for big kids.
11:30 - clean up toys
12:00 - educational video for big kids, eat my lunch.
