Kezzy update
I know I said I'd have an update up yesterday, but I've had 4 kids under 3 to take care of yesterday afternoon and evening and all day today. So, here is the promised update. At her dr apt on Tuesday she had gained 7 oz! They wanted her to gain at least 3 oz. She is still Jaundice, and of course still has thrush, but at least the jaundice is less. The dr said we could go to 3 hours in between feedings, unless she is hungry before then. At our visit with the lactation consultant we found that she is still taking just a little over 2 oz per feeding which is still short of what she should be taking. However, since she gained enough weight, they are allowing me to stop giving her bottles. They said that if she is fussy after eating instead of acting satisfied and content, then to give her a bottle and pump...otherwise, we can go to all nursing now. They also said that as long as she is getting at least 8 feedings ina 24 hour time period, we can let her sleep at night instead of waking her up. So we let her sleep last night, and she slept for 6 hours straight before wanting to eat! Of course, then she wanted to eat every 2 hours the rest of the night. We are hoping for a good long stretch of sleep like that again tonight.
As for me, I can get my pre-pregnancy pants on and button them...but they are nowhere near comfortable yet. I probably need to lose 5 to 10 more lbs before they are comfortable enough to wear. I have had a pretty easy recovery this time. My only complaint is back pain from the epidural...but even that, I'm down to taking the normal dose of advil for it and that is it. I think I will probably start some sort of exercise (most likely walking) this week.
And of course, what blog post is complete without at least 1 picture! Here is Kezzy in her first cloth diaper! I need about 10 more of these, but every website I can find them at they are sold out! Notice her nice chubby belly from the 7 oz she gained!
