Random pictures and updates

Raquelle is learning to eat at the table! She figured out how to climb up on to the chairs and onto the table. Of course, she was scolded and spanked for climbing on the table, but we decided it was time to teach her what the table is really for. Pretty soon, we will get a booster seat for her and she will eat all her meals at the table so Titus can use the high chair. Until then, she is getting her snacks at the table like a big girl!


Titus is absolutely huge!!! You would never guess he is only 6 weeks old! We both think he could pass for 5 or 6 months old if he had a little more head control. Here is a picture of him and Thad. Titus is wearing 6 to 9 month clothes in this picture (at 6 weeks old!!) and they aren't even big on him! The onsie is actually a little small for him.


And I couldn't just leave you with a picture of him screaming. (He just wouldn't cooperate for that last one). So, here is the biggest smile I have on camera so far. Unfortunately, he turned his head right as I snapped the picture, so it's a side view of his smile.

And lastly, this is what you get when you badly want a new look and try to teach your poor unsuspecting husband how to layer your hair. It's 6 inches shorter now! I'll post a picture of me with my new look later this week after I go and have it professionally fixed!

Hah! The hair reminds me of when Jason asked me to help him with his hair. He wanted part of it really short, but not the top (just a little longer) for a nice style. Evidentally, I can't cut hair. (I already knew that, but Jason had his faith misplaced!) He ended up having to shave his whole head and he was nearly bald for his sister's wedding. Oops!

If he's in 6-9 month clothes I wonder if he's outgrown my Titus yet? Do you know about how much he weighs? My Titus seems to just kinda be growing out of his 6-9 month clothes, and his 6-12 month clothes fit just right. Crazy huh? Who would know he's 18 months old!

I estimate Titus to be about 13.5 lbs and 24 or 25" tall. He can wear both 3-6 month and 6-9 month right now.

Wow! Asher was 12 lbs 6 oz at 6 weeks. Our big boys! Titus sure is growing fast! He'll sure go through the clothes! We have finally hit a spot where we have a ton of pants that fit ok in the waist, but are too long. He has hit is slower growing time. He is 21 lbs 6 oz now.

Almost a decade!

 I have not posted anything on this blog in about 9 years!  The kids are growing up, and last night, as teenagers, Kezzy came across this blog.  “Mom!!! You have a blog?  Can I read it?”  Since then, she and Titus have been reading everything on here, reminiscing about how cute they were when they were little.  It got me thinking that maybe I should resurrect this old blog!  I have another child now (Theo) who was never even mentioned in any previous posts, and very little is on here about Annabelle and Philemon!  I’ll have to think about what I want to write about, now that the kids are older.  In the mean time, here is a new picture of my now much more grown up children.  This picture is of me and the kids on Mothers Day.

Raquelle is here!

Raquelle Elizabeth was born Sunday March 5th at 5:49 AM after 41 hours of labor! I was sent home from the hospital 3 times Friday and Saturday because I was not making very fast Progress. Contractions started out 3 min apart Friday at noon and got really strong by about 11 am on Saturday. I could no longer stand the pain so they had to keep me this time. By 4 pm I was at 3.5 cm and Contractions were 2 to 3 min apart, and so strong I was shaking uncontrolably through them. So I begged for an epi (gave up on going natural after the first 28 hours). The epi was the most traumatic part of the whole thing. As they were putting it in, my blood pressure dropped dangerously low and they had to rip it out and give me two shots of epinephrin to raise it back up and then start over. The 2nd try, they put the needle in too deep and punctured the fluid behind the epidural cavity, which caused the fluid between my brain and spinal cord to start leaking. The Dream Giver

I haven't written in a while, but as I start to toy with the idea of moving away from facebook, I find myself toying with the idea of reactivating this old blog.  I'm not sure what direction it will take.  Perhaps an overview of things I am learning?  Perhaps cute stories about the kids and every day life?  Maybe an occasional allergy friendly recipe... I don't know.  For now, I am a firm believer in life long learning and mentorship.  I strive to discipline my brain and my personal development daily with books I read, what I watch or listen to, Bible studies, and people I hang out with.  I just finished reading the book "The Dream Giver" by Bruce Wilkinson, the author of "The Prayer of Jabez."  I was surprised at how much I really enjoyed this  book! A short overview.  "The Dream Giver" is about a "nobody" named "Ordinary" who lives in the land of "familiar."  Every day, he wakes up and goes to the same job.  ...
